6 – 7 PM An Evening on a Wing & a Prayer
Booksellers will not want to miss out on an evening with River Jordan and Shellie Rushing Tomlinson. Reading from Saints In Limbo and Suck Your Stomach In and Put Some Color On, they will interview each other with surprise questions and comments about their Southern Wing & a Prayer Tour, and query those great unsung heroes –booksellers themselves about just how they found themselves supporting thousands of writers and millions of written words every year, all of which will be featured in upcoming radio programs.

On the evening of the 25th, Authors River Jordan (Saints in Limbo) and Shellie Rushing Tomlinson (Suck Your Stomach In and Put Some Color On) will hit pause in the middle of their Great Southern Wing and a Prayer Tour and join us for an entertaining presentation on storytelling, book sales, and the future of our industry. River and Shellie will be touring the South from March 18th thru April 1st on what is sure to be a very out of the box road trip. In addition to telling stories, signing books and meeting the public, the authors plans are to interview book sellers and readers along the way as they take the pulse of the industry and document their findings in real time through regular Twitter, Facebook, and YouTube updates. Don't miss this delightful evening as these two storytellers weave their road trip tales, host a Q and A with each other, and bring everyone present right into the thick of their Great Southern Wing and a Prayer Tour!

River Jordan - Bio
River Jordan is first and foremost, a storyteller. Whether the stories that unfold reflect her faith, her love of literature, or the humor with which she unrolls her southern heritage. Her fiction novels have be hailed and acclaimed by some of the finest literary voices of the day. Kirkus reviews said of her second novel, The Messenger of Magnolia Street, “A beautifully written, atmospheric tale.” Her third novel, Saints In Limbo has been painted as "a lyrical and relentlessly beautiful book," and by Paste Magazine as “A Southern Gothic Masterpiece.” Both on the air and off, River weaves stories together with a dry wit, a bit of irony and a dead-eye aim for finding the truth. As a radio producer and host of her weekly ‘literary jam session,’ Jordan features reviews, interviews, and news of the publishing world every Wednesday 12-2 pm on WRFN Nashville 107.1fm or worldwide live and streaming at www.riverjordanlive.com As a loved and much sought after speaker, Ms. Jordan invites audiences, readers and listeners to tune-in to their own stories and to treasure the unfolding moments of their lives.
Shellie Rushing Tomlinson - Bio
As an infant, Shellie Rushing Tomlinson had one of the earliest cases of appendicitis ever documented. Fifty-four doctors came to Natchez, MS to study her case. In retrospect, Shellie believes it may have been better had they studied her brain for she admits to hearing voices. After briefly considering medication Shellie chose a career in storytelling to give them all a chance to be heard. It's working out pretty well. Today this author, speaker, newspaper/magazine columnist, and Belle of All Things Southern entertains audiences on the radio, TV, and web, in a full out celebration of the South with a heavy emphasis on faith, friends, and family. Shellie’s gift is mining the exquisite from the ordinary. A list of the radio affiliates airing Shellie’s daily segments can be found at All Things Southern.com along with her weekly video porch chat. Shellie also produces and hosts All Things Southern LIVE each Fri. morning from 8:00 to 9:00 A.M. CST on FOXFM 92.7 out of northeast LA. The show streams live and podcasts are archived so everyone can join Shellie’s southern celebration. Whether sharing her love of story, interviewing radio guests, or interacting with readers thru Facebook and Twitter, Shellie’s passion for life has proven to be highly contagious. Shellie’s first Penguin Group USA release, “Suck Your Stomach In and Put Some Color On” was chosen as a SIBA Nonfiction Book of the Year 2009 finalist
